That circled plug is the whole job on the back of a G20. BMW calls the diff oil lifetime fill. We changed ours anyway, and this is how BMW says to do it.

Rear differential service for the rear-wheel-drive 330i, any year. BMW used G3 in the rear up to 02/2020 and G5 from 03/2020. This oil is made to both, so one kit covers every RWD 330i.
What is in the kit?
- 1 x Febi 184247 hypoid gear oil 70W-80 GL-5, 1 L, made to BMW Hypoid G3 (BMW 83 22 2 413 512) and G5 (BMW 83 22 2 471 487). The 330i rear diff (type 190AL) takes 0.8 L.
- 1 x differential screw plug with O-ring, M22, BMW 33 11 7 525 064, for the rear diff fill plug. The old oil comes out and the new oil goes in through that hole. Tightened to 60 Nm.
Febi lists this oil for BMW G3 and G5. It is not a BMW-approved oil.
Which BMWs does it fit?
- BMW 330i (G20 Sedan) rear-wheel drive, B46/B48, without the M Sport differential
