How to Find Your Part Number

The fastest way to the right part is its part number. Here's where to find it.

BMW part numbers

BMW part numbers have 11 characters, usually printed in groups like 11 42 8 575 211. They're often on a label or stamped on the old part itself. Type the number into our search without spaces.

Maker part numbers

Parts made by companies like Mahle, Mann, Bosch or NGK also carry the maker's own number, such as OX 387D or 97506. Our part pages list both the maker number and the BMW numbers it replaces.

Numbers change

BMW replaces older numbers with newer ones over time. If your old part shows an older number, search it anyway: our part pages list the older BMW numbers each part replaces.

No number on the part?

  • Start from your BMW: paste your 17-character VIN into our VIN decoder. The VIN is on the driver's side of the windshield and on the sticker in the driver's door opening.
  • Or send your VIN and the part you need on Fitment Check, and we look it up for you.
  • Don't know which part you need? Try the Parts Advisor.

Now find the part.
