Before you flash a tune, fix the two things a tuned N55 breaks first: the plastic factory charge pipe, which cracks with heat and boost, and tired coils and plugs, which misfire under more boost. This kit is both in one box.
What is in the N55 tune-ready kit?
- 1 x aluminum charge pipe upgrade kit (replaces the plastic factory charge pipe), Turner Motorsport 024592TMS01KT
- 1 x ignition service kit: 6 performance ignition coils, 6 NGK 97506 spark plugs (one step colder than stock on the N55), dielectric grease, Assembled By ECS (Bav Auto coils, NGK plugs) E9XUPIGSVKT
Not included: the tune itself. Manual transmission cars also need BMW plug 13 90 7 515 387 for the charge pipe; it is not in this kit.

- Do I need this to run a tune? No, but the factory plastic charge pipe is a known failure on the N55 at stock boost, and more boost makes it worse. Coils and colder plugs keep the spark strong when cylinder pressure goes up.
- Why colder plugs? A colder plug pulls heat out of the tip faster, which helps prevent knock on a tuned engine. The NGK 97506 is one step colder than the N55's stock plug.
