• Additive: Liqui Moly Hydraulic Lifter Additive 300 ml (20004). Per Liqui Moly, it reduces hydraulic lifter noise and cleans oil passages; one full can (300 ml) is used with 3 to 6 liters (3.2 to 6.4 U.S. quarts) of motor oil, it mixes on its own and can be added at any time (shake well first), and for best results Liqui Moly says to use it with every oil change. It is a Liqui Moly product, not a BMW part, and using it is your call. These engines take up to 6.5 L, more than the 3 to 6 L Liqui Moly rates one can for.
