Fitment and details
A full rear diff reseal: the pinion seal at the front, both output (axle) seals with their lock rings, and fresh drain and fill plugs. Diff oil is not included: refill with the BMW-specified final drive oil for your car.
What's in the kit
- 1 x Pinion (input) seal 45 x 75 x 10 mm: Corteco 82027755, replaces BMW 31 50 7 609 535
- 2 x Output shaft seal with lock ring: Corteco 82033294, replaces BMW 33 10 7 505 604
- 2 x Drain and fill plug with O-ring M22 x 1.5: S-Tec SP00176, replaces BMW 33 11 7 525 064
Install notes
- Pinion seal work means taking the drive flange off. Before you loosen the collar nut, mark it, the flange and the pinion; tighten it back to exactly that mark. Going past the mark over-loads the pinion bearings, and the diff then needs a rebuild.
- The output seals sit behind the axle shafts: the shafts come out of the diff to reach them.
- Pull the fill plug first: if it will not come out, do not drain the diff.
