The whole N54 maintenance list in one order: a full set of ignition coils and spark plugs plus the inspection service (oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter and brake fluid) for the E8x and E9x cars listed below.
What's in the kit
- Ignition coils: 6 x Delphi GN10571, replaces BMW 12138616153 (Delphi is a BMW original supplier for this coil)
- Spark plugs: 6 x Bosch ZGR6STE2, replaces BMW 12120037244, the N54 plug
- Oil: your choice of 7 x 1 L Motul 6100 Syn-nergy 5W-30 (107970), BMW Longlife-01 (LL-01) approved, or 7 x 1 L Liqui Moly Special Tec B FE 0W-30 (22260), BMW Longlife-01 FE (LL-01 FE) approved; 7 L total. BMW of North America's oil chart SI B11 01 15 lists 0W-30 LL01FE for the N54 and N54T

Why coils and plugs together
The N54 fires its plugs hard under boost; a misfire after new plugs usually points at a coil. Doing all six of each at once saves pulling the coils twice.
How much oil
BMW lists 6.5 L for the N54 with the filter. This kit has 7 L; fill to your engine's amount and keep the rest for top-ups.
